Business Alliance between J&T Recycling Corporation and JESCO Holdings, Inc.
J&T Recycling Corporation
JESCO Holdings, Inc.
J&T Recycling Corporation (President: Tetsuo Tsuyuguchi, Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, hereinafter "J&T Recycling") and JESCO Holdings, Inc. (Chairman and CEO: Toshihiro Matsumoto, Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter "JESCO Holdings") have entered into a business alliance agreement to jointly promote the reuse and recycling of solar panels.
Currently, solar power generation is rapidly expanding due to the government's renewable energy promotion policy toward "2050 Carbon Neutrality." However, a large volume of waste panels is expected in the 2030s when solar panels installed after the start of the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) system in 2012 reach the end of their product life. Additionally, panels being disposed of before their product life due to natural disasters, malfunctions, and replacements have been increasing, making proper treatment a social issue from a resource circulation perspective. To address this issue, J&T Recycling launched a solar panel recycling factory in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture, last December.
In this context, JESCO Holdings, with extensive experience in solar power plant construction and maintenance nationwide, and J&T Recycling, with technology, expertise, and networks for efficient collection, proper treatment, and recycling of waste panels, have agreed to collaborate on building a reuse and recycling system under their shared sustainable management philosophy.
J&T Recycling and JESCO Holdings will provide one-stop services throughout the lifecycle of solar power plants, from construction to O&M, renewal/dismantling, and solar panel reuse/recycling, working together to support solar power plants nationwide and contribute to realizing a recycling-based and decarbonized society.
